We have some incredible projects to show you today. What we are MOST excited about is having the talented Julie Davison from the US hopping along with us.

We met Julie and her husband in Barcelona in May 2016. It was a funny story ..... before the cruise, we were touring the amazing Sagrada Familia. I was looking at a scale model and I noticed that there was a woman smiling at us. I thought 'Do I know you?' I said to Kylie 'Do you know that lady?' Turned out to be Julie. Hahahahahaha!

Inspiration

So, not only are we hopping with Julie, but the theme for the hop is 'Case-ing Julie Davison.'

There is a card of Julies that I really like.

Aside from being a nice card, it is using the Detailed Floral Thinlits die in an alternative way. So, that was my starting point - use the Detailed Floral Thinlits in an alternative way.

My Card

Here is the card I ended up with;

I started with a small square of Whisper White card stock and using the smaller of the two detailed framelits, I ran the piece through the big shot. I rotated the card stock 180 degrees and cut again.
Using the edgelit, I then cut along the edge (both sides).

To make the base layer (under the white piece), I started with a square piece of Soft Suede. I aligned the edge lit with the edge of the piece of Whisper White and cut (both sides).

I cut two small layers of Delightful Dijon and Soft Suede and two strips of the burlap ribbon.

Finally, I stamped on a piece of whisper white with Delightful Dijon. As a final change to the card, i used the edgelit to cut out the sentiment. This was then mounted on a card.

  1. 'Great CASE Bruno. Your card is very 'gender neutral'. Very different 'feel' from the rest in the group. I never thought of using Soft Suede with this dies.
