We have some incredible projects to show you today. What we are MOST excited about is having the talented Tracy May from the UK (that rhymes) hopping along with us. I always remember seeing Tracys cards on hops and on Pinterest because she has this cool stand that she uses to display her cards.

Inspiration

So, not only are we hopping with Tracy May, but the theme for the hop is 'Case-ing Tracy May.' There are a number of ways to interpret CASE.

  • CASE - Copy and Share Everything (or with Everybody)
  • CASE - Copy and Selectively Edit

The second definition is the one that I like and am using for the the card today.

Here is the card of Tracy's that I am CASE-ing

2 things about the card;
  1. Some of the products and colours used on this card are retired. However there are new ways to create the same effect. Im focusing on the background, the ombre effect and my take on the layout.
  2. Can you see the stand that I was talking about? How cool is it?

My Card

Here is the card I ended up with;

On the original card, Tracy used a mask, which is no longer available. However, what is now available is MUCH cooler. Have you seen the Diagonal Stripe stamp set? You can make it whatever colour you want including ombre effect.

I did this using the brand new Ombre stamp pads now available from Stampin' Up! Ive included a video about these cool stamp pads below;

So, I stamped the background a few times trying to get a super-clean image which I was successful in achieving. But, i then chose the original version of the stamped image because I like how it is rough and textured looking.

How cool is the new Burlap? I was really sad when the original burlap was retired but Im a BIG fan of the new style.

I used the new layered circles to cut out two circle elements and then used an embossing folder to give the vellum circle a bit more texture. I then white embossed on Bermuda Bay using a stamp from the super-cool Badges and Banners stamp set and punched using the coordinating punch.

What do you think?

  6. Another Bruno the Great Master at Cards Creations. You have a certain signature with your style of cards. It makes them unique to you and I think this a great thing. They are always just so with colour and style with just enough of everything to make it yours and with a WoW factor too.

  9. That stand is something you usually put in the bottom of a vase of flowers. You can then stick the flowers onto the spikes so that they can be arranged nicely.

  13. I'm sorry! I'm having one of those dumb days! I watched the double masking video. But, have no idea how in the world it applies to your card? They are both really nice. I just don't understand.

    1. hi gloria - thanks for your comment. the video that is embedded into my post is about the Ombre Ink pads, not double masking. Im not sure what video you were referring to. I just checked again to make sure. Maybe you watched the first video and it automatically went to the next video?
